Hello, I am Jake Matthews, and this is my portfolio. The primary focus of this website is to document my developing opinions on the topics of revolution and the humanities as I go through the Humanities course. The proper way to go through the site is to read the Definition of Revolution, followed by the Definition of humanities and Humanities, and then read through the other items in any order. All items included have some relation to the ideas expressed in the definitions, usually serving as further evidence for my definitions or just ruminations on the ideas, so understanding the definitions is necessary for the rest to make sense. 

I would like to acknowledge all the staff and professors associated with the Humanities course for the influence they have had on this work, both in educating me in a way that guided me to this point and in getting me started in how to develop the website and the portfolio. I would also like to acknowledge the Humanities fellows for being so helpful throughout the year in helping facilitate the class and for their work as writing tutors. Lastly, I would like to thank all of the Humanities students who, through discussion and participation in the course, have inspired and motivated me to succeed in the course as we go through this journey together.
